Clinton Lies: Take Two

As if the first time wasn't enough, Clinton was caught in another lie. This time, she claims that on a trip to Bosnia, she landed under sniper fire and was whisked away to safety...in her words she said:

"I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."
In reality, this never happened.

Clinton, who last week was called out for lying on NAFTA, seems to be making this a bad habit. Holdover from the first Clinton White House, where lying was common-place? I don't really know. But certainly unbecoming of the next President of the United States.

Videos have been posted to YouTube proving that she was not under fire and in fact enjoyed her time on the tarmac.

Accounting Humor

I've had a mild flu for the last couple of days, and one of the side effects is a terrible headache. I was talking to my friend Thomas, and I asked him if his accounting wisdom provided any possible methods for releving headaches. His response?

Thomas: Sure! Now, you have some options: 1. Expense the headache (ride it out and get it over with) 2. Captialize the headache as an asset (put the headache on hold and amortize it over time) 3. Hire Arthur Andersen (Enron's CPA Firm) and ask them to make it look like you've never had a headache (this would involve lying to yourself)

Well said, Thomas. If accountants ever go out of style, comedy might suit you!

Ahh...fun on the metro!

I was in a Metro station tonight, waiting for a train, and the following story happened (I am not the subject of the story):

*Voice comes over the loudspeaker:*

"Attention customers...for your safety...please step back from the granite edge..."

*pause*

*everyone looks around*

"Sir, in the white t-shirt and with the backpack, please step back from the granite edge!"

At this point, a very embarassed individual wearing a white shirt steps back, gives the camera a thumbs-up, to the laughter of the station...

Ahh, I love riding metrorail sometimes...
